Québec at the Edinburgh Festival 2019

The Québec programme spreads across the Fringe, International and Book festivals and features 13 shows including dance, music, literature and no less than three Québec circus shows.

Below please find the list of Québec shows and professional events coming to the Edinburgh festivals this year. We hope that this will be a helpful planning tool for those coming to the Scottish capital this August and that it will whet the appetite of everyone else. A full-colour special Edinburgh booklet will be on its way to you soon, attached to the next edition of our regular Québec Culture brochure.

Québec in Edinburgh 2019

The Québec programme spreads across the Fringe, International and Book festivals and features 13 shows including dance, music, literature and no less than three Québec circus shows. This year’s exciting programme also includes for the first time a First Nations strand entitled Indigenous Contemporary Scene curated by Artistic Director Émilie Monnet and showcasing the work of several artists in the field of performing arts and literature.

The Québec Government Office in London Culture team will be in Edinburgh at different stages of the festival and will be hosting several professional events.

6th: the Québec Government Office annual Edinburgh reception (by invitation)

17th: Collaborate with Québec special event on international cooperation organised in collaboration with the British Council and Nordic Council of Ministers and with the participation of CALQ and Emilie Monnet. Register

19th: Pitch My Piece - Canada in Edinburgh, a professional promoters and presenters event presenting twelve Canadian artists pitch, including three from Québec: La Fille Du Laitier, Le Petit Théâtre de Sherbrooke and Nadère arts vivants. Register

22nd: Producers Breakfast featuring Montréal’s international performing arts showcase CINARS’ CEO Alain Paré as keynote speaker Register
